I know I stated that Yumestate will be taking a break, and yes, unfortunately it still is. However, I couldn’t help but notice a fanart drawn beautifully by FF Sade was posted on the League of Legends (LoL) Reddit page.

As for the wallpaper, I’ve edited the original to fit a 1920×1080 resolution. There is a lighter version, and a darker version. Unfortunately, I did have to scale the image down as the height was too much for the 1080. Some of it was still cut off however.

There came a time in the gaming world when the almighty ATLUS (responsible for numerous successful titles throughout the years, like the Persona series, Summon Night, Trauma Center, and many, many more) joined hands with a relatively-quiet game dev studio by the name of Sting Entertainment. They had their merry time together, and the three-year (and still ongoing) partnership resulted in the creation of a couple of unique and down-to-the core jRPG’s, the likes of which have stretched the limits of the once formidable GameBoy Advance, before marching their stride on the PSP. This series of games was dubbed – Dept. Heaven.

The first of these wonders is the “strictly” turn-based world of Riviera.

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is a game made for the Nintendo Wii, and can be classified as a sort of adventure game where you play as a boy named Seto traveling desolate Japan at some point after some kind of worldwide apocalypse, which has left very few survivors. The goal is to search for a silver-haired girl he saw one day–but as you do so, you encounter the spirits of those who died, which have taken on a variety of haunting forms. In some ways, the game is similar to games found in the survival horror genre. The difference with this game though, is that rather than try to make you scared, it tries to make you sad. Humanity has already been pretty much wiped out, so loneliness is the central theme of the game.

“In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill. You promised you’d take me there again someday, but you never did. Well, I’m alone there now… in our special place… waiting for you…”

Silent Hill 2 came out on the PS2 about ten years ago, but I’ve just gotten to it now. It’s gooooood stuff. The game is widely regarded as one of the best games in the series, and in the entire survival horror genre. What makes the game special is the powerful atmosphere, mysterious plot, and psychological undertones.

What is truth? Is it absolute or subjective? Should we embrace or fear it? Persona 4 is a game that asks the players these questions and throws them into an adventure where they might just find the answer.

Hey guys, Leap250 here, rising from the burnt ashes of registration forms, readings, and other paper based requirements. Metaphorically of course (I’d be screwed if I was serious), but you get the point. That aside, well, it’s good to be back ^^

This will be my first video game related post, and it is for the recently released Fate/Extra.

Now before I actually do get serious, take the time to gaze upon the majesty that is Red Saber

Compared to my friend Rune (whom you will find here), I’m not really that much of a gamer. I do not possess the finger dexterity (for some games) or the patience to actually finish a single game. However, I do dabble on some games from time to time – ones that do not require as much exploring as Final Fantasy or as much button/stylus-mashing as The World Ends With You. And, one of the games that was lucky enough for me to actually finish was the Ace Attorney series. Read more…

small image Introduction to the Tales of Series

Every now and then I’ll write up a video game article, and every now and then I’ll write an “introduction” article designed to explain the basics about some kind of fandom relating to Japanese media (anime, manga, video games, etc). So here’s a blog post that will do both at the same time! This week I’d like to talk about the amazing Tales of series of RPG video games, currently celebrating its 15th anniversary.
